Engineers Without Borders – Ethiopia (EWBE) is a startup chapter of the global Engineers Without Borders (EWB) movement, dedicated to leveraging engineering to create sustainable, community-driven solutions for underserved communities across Ethiopia. Founded by a multidisciplinary team of professionals with decades of experience in humanitarian engineering, EWBE is committed to ethical, inclusive, and impactful development.
We are driven to harness and mobilize engineering expertise to address Ethiopia’s most urgent development challenges—prioritizing access to clean water, sanitation, renewable energy, and resilient infrastructure—while empowering communities through capacity building and promoting sustainable, locally driven innovation.

We’re thrilled to announce that Engineers Without Borders – Ethiopia (EWBE) has been officially approved as a Start-Up Member of Engineers Without Borders International (EWB-I)!
Announced June 24, 2025, this milestone marks a major step forward for our organization and Ethiopia’s engineering community. As a newly recognized chapter, EWBE joins a global network of 70+ countries committed to advancing sustainable, community-led engineering solutions in underserved areas.

EWBE Launches Official Logo and Strategic Brand Identity
Engineers Without Borders – Ethiopia (EWBE) is proud to announce the official launch of its new logo, symbolizing a bold step forward in our mission to deliver community-driven, sustainable engineering solutions across Ethiopia.
The newly unveiled logo represents a globe in motion, encircled by unity and grounded in Ethiopia. This reflects EWBE’s identity as a national chapter rooted in local realities yet aligned with the global values of the Engineers Without Borders movement. The design expresses collaboration, progress, and innovation—key principles that guide our work in transforming communities through engineering.
The launch of our logo coincides with a renewed strategic focus across five thematic areas: Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH); Renewable Energy and Climate Resilience; Shelter and Infrastructure Development; Engineering Education and Mentorship; and Community Engagement and Capacity Building. These pillars define our programmatic priorities and will shape future partnerships, technical support, and impact initiatives.
As we roll out this new visual identity across all platforms and materials, we invite our members, partners, and the broader development community to engage with EWBE and be part of this exciting new chapter.
